Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor has been engaged in Community Development, community social mobilization activities, policy analysis/Advocacy and Human Rights work for more than twenty years, focusing on various aspects of Community development, Environmental Protection and preservation , conflict resolution & meditation ,Peace building, policy intervention, Human Rights & social justice. He is a B.sc holder in Accountancy and have acquired various knowledge both locally and International on Environmental Justice, Peace building and conflict resolution He is an Environmental & Human Rights Advocate, Conflict resolution Expert and Peace Ambassador and a champion of Environmental Justice He has gained considerable experience in the design and implementation of pro-poor and Environmental policies and Peace Building across Nigeria. Most of the projects centers’ on Environmental protection and preservation, conflict resolution & mitigation, Policy Monitoring and Advocacy, Environmental and Health Management, community Development, Gender, Human Rights and social justice
Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor has been an active development partner who has contributed his quota in the development of his community, state and the country at large in peace building as member of Partners For Peace and implemented many community conflict resolutions intervention in the troubled oil Rich Region of Niger Delta States. He has developed methodologies that form the basis of data-driven technological platforms that parse massive amounts of qualitative and quantitative data to provide policy makers and practitioners with the tools that allow for informed decision making and enhanced response and have provided training on issues such as conflict assessment and human rights and security for practitioners to be6er understand contextual dynamics and respond appropriately to conflict and crisis, leveraging good practice and respecting international best practice. In the course of his work he has advocated for different policy change which has yielded positive result in the state. As a strong voice for change, he has facilitated different environmental change which has helped in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and as a result of his work, has been nominated as the Regional Co-coordinator climate Sustainable Network (Csdevnet who advocate for the implementation of Sustainable development Goals (SDG) on areas of climate change mitigation and Adaptation, His work in advocacy and policy reformation has given rise to the review of laws and the drafting of governance, environmental and social legislations towards improving the environmental Rights of the oil and Gas Host communities and a strong voice and campaign for Environmental justice in the Niger Delta
